After a lifetime’s passion of studying and teaching art and art history, my artistic influences are far too many to list, but I think I’m most affected by artists who are colorists. My inspirations range from the natural world to cultural iconography, and many things in between.

Regardless of subject matter or medium, I believe that every artwork is an opportunity to explore the possibilities of color, composition, light, texture and material. At some point, the work often takes on a life of its own, and the way all the elements ultimately come together can be a surprise, even to me.
